I have beent trying to play along at LRW more often. This week's challenge was to use ruffles. I made a paper ruffle by running a green strip of paper through my sewing machine and using it as grass for this springy flower layout! I also hand stitched the stems and dry embossed the background with dots. And I made friends with my edge distresser again (I misplaced it for a while!) and ran it over all the edges for a nice look.

I Love Sketches
Joanne at I Love Sketches recently posted her debut sketch. I rotated it and used it to make this card, my first using a Bella stamp. Thanks Joanne!

Dry Embossing
It has been way too long since I have played along at LRW. This week's challenge is to use dry embossing so when I needed a special birthday card I dug out my embossing folders. I used dots for the white background and even embossed the happy birthday sentiment. I also hand stitched the flower stems for some nice dimension to go along with the embossing.
I saw these fan folded rosettes in a magazine and decided to try to make them myself. They were a bit of a pain! But it was worth it I think.

Vaduz Liechtenstein
I am just finally finishing off the last layouts of our trip to Germany last March. We took an amazing day trip through the Alps, Austria and Switzerland to the tiny country of Liechtenstein. We visited the capital of Vaduz with its imposing castle up on the cliff. The juxtaposition of this 14th century fort with the modern architecture in the city centre is just amazing. The hair-raising trip through the Alps with the huge snow piles on one side and the cliff face on the other was as much a part of the trip as Liechtenstein itself. Another great adventure for "Mannschaft Jaeger."

My special view
Oh my special Florida view, how I will miss it. Such a wonderful retreat for Christmas, March Break and Easter this year.
Until next winter...
