Birthday Girls

This is a busy time for birthdays! Last week was my friend's daughter's 3rd birthday and next week is my friend's birthday.

These are the cards I sent them. I made them a while ago but I had never posted them here! My copic colouring still needs TONS of practice...

Happy birthday Talia and Lisa!

November Design Team Reveal

For this month's Design Team reveal at TSF, I was working with products from the Haunted collection by My Mind's Eye. The design package included four sheets of double sided paper, a bingo card, some die cuts, some ribbon and brads.

Since the reveal was right at Halloween, meaning I wouldn't have any actual Halloween photos, I decided to do some layouts that I thought would still go with these papers. These are two layouts of Oktoberfest fun at the Schwaben Club a few weeks ago. A real tradition for us now! I added Prima flowers, a vinyl label by American Crafts, tiny alpha stickers by Jenni Bowlin and MLS. A MME journal tag, embossed stamping, some trim and a crochet flower by the mom finished it off!

For these two layouts, I thought photos of "our" alligator "Bob" in Florida would be appropriate! I added Scenic Route chipboard letters and Jillibean Soup corrugated letters, and skulls and an arrow from Tim Holtz grungeboard. He is swimming right beside the "Beware" sign if you look closely!

And I had lots of fun with this card. I painted a Bazzill chipboard frame with gold paint and then inked it black for a tarnished look. I did the same thing to the paper doilie.

Thanks for having a peek!

Friendzy Friday- Journalling Fun

I am always looking for new and interesting ways to include journalling on my pages. Fodey Generators is a very cool site that allows you to create neat things like newspaper clippings and movie clapper boards. Just go to the site and click on the options at the top (movie clapper or newspaper clipping), and you will get an example of what you can create, and fields to fill in. The character count in the fields is pretty small so you cannot include tons of text, so you need to pare it down to the essentials.

Here is a movie clapper I recently made to help cature some of the information from our recent trip to Singapore. It was our second time to the Botanic Gardens so I thought a "take two" kind of thing was neat.

I printed it out on white paper and here is a close up of the clapper that I included on this page.

And the entire page...
This is a TSF kit featuring Kaiser products that I personalised to fit my pictures.

You can also make very realistic looking newspaper clippings. I love these!! Again, you fill out the small field boxes with your text, date, name of newspaper, and then print it out.

Here is one I made capturing some of the journalling of a recent trip to Florida.

Here is a detail shot of it on my page.

And the entire page. This is a kit also from TSF that I customised to fit my pictures. I just love the Scenic Route papers here! I added some tiny alpha stickers from MLS.

Head on over to Fodey and check out these fun applications!

Thanks for peeking'

Spring to Life

Today it is my turn to issue a sketch or layout challenge over at TSF. I just love the sketches at Creative Scrappers. And the contributors are from all over the world and create such amazing layouts. Here is one of their fabulous sketches.

I rotated it and made a layout of my springtime garden, using Jillibean Soup papers, Scenic Route chipboard letters, MLS mini alpha stickers, and some trim, pearls and buttons from my stash.

Thanks for peekin'!

Family

Yes sometimes families drive us mental. But at the end of the day...it is family that matters most.
Here's a LO I made using almost exclusively Basic Grey products for a challenge over at TSF. Dee challenged us to to make a layout using products from our favourite manufacturer. Only the cardstock, chipboard heart and prima flowers are not BG. I even found a brand new package of BG brads yet to be opened in my stash! This is the second page of my inlaws' 50th anniversary last year that I started some time ago but never quite finished.
Thanks Dee for the inspiration to finish another layout!

I hope it's a hoot!

It has been ages since I participated in a Little Red Wagon challenge. This week Regan gave us some "owly inspiration." I have a ton of owl themed stamps and sentiments. So I made this card using some Pine Cone Press papers and coloured the image with my copics. I popped the party hat and coloured it with copics and stickles. Lots of fun! Thanks for the inspiration LRW!

Card Challenge- Recycle!

Today it is my turn to post a card challenge over at TSF. I have chosen the theme of recycling! I made this thank you card using lots of recycled materials.
I cut the flowers out of a currugated coffee holder. I reclaimed the buttons from an outfit before I turned it into rags. And the black ribbon is from a top I recently purchased. You know those large ribbon loops that seem to be on the inside shoulders of all ladies tops these days? I find they just get in the way or show when you don't want them to. So when I was cutting them off, I realised I could use the large loops of ribbon on my scrapbooking projects!
The pp and sentiment are from My Mind's Eye.

So put your thinking caps on and scope out some materials you can recycle on a card! Can't wait to see what you come up with :)

Happy birthday!

I recently attended a girls' weekend near Tobermory at my friend Tina's cottage. We had a lovely time watching chick movies, eating treats and scrapbooking! The fall leaves were gorgeous.

It is Tina's birthday this week! She is a lover of all things French, especially Paris. Here is the card I made for her, using a Prima butterfly and papers from My Mind's Eye.

Thanks for another great girls' weekend Tina! And happy birthday!!

October DT Reveal!

These are the gorgeous products I got to work with for October's DT reveal at TSF. It is the Lost and Found line from My Mind's Eye, plus some Queen and Co. pearls, naked chipboard hearts and some wool.

To this layout of our spring trip to Newfoundland, I added Prima flowers, Kaiser pearls, mini alpha stickers from MLS as well as the tickets, wooden triangles, fibres and cs from my stash.

For this layout of Petty Harbour in Newfoundland, I added Doodlebug alpha stickers, Prima flowers, ric rac, glitter and cs.

Here are some pictures of northern Sweden, near the arctic circle. So gorgeous! I added Prima flowers, buttons, cs, and mini alpha stickers from MLS.

Another breathtaking view of northern Sweden near Lulea. The mini alpha stickers are from MM. My mom made these crochet flowers!

I stamped and embossed this bird for a perfect addition to the glittery papers.

This was a fabulous line to work with. Can't wait to add these pages to my albums!
