XOXOX

I received some fun new stamps for Christmas and have been trying to show them some ink! Plus I have been trying to keep my Copics from gathering too much dust as my new year's resolution!

Here's a card I made using one of my new House Mouse stamps. Cute eh? Daffodils are one of my favourite flowers. I still need more practice on my shading, especially in small areas. I added some button twine from PTI and one of my mom's handmade crochet flowers. The sentiment is Portafolia chipboard. I added some Glossy Accents to the rain drops too!

I have also been trying to link up with various challenge blogs for fun.
This one is for Sentimental Sundays.
They have a "dry embossing plus a sentiment" challenge this week. I embossed the green cardstock with dots before cutting out the window.

Thanks for looking and here's to spring being just around the corner (I wish!!).

No Stamps Challenge

It was my friend Mary's birthday earlier this month so I made her a fun card I knew she would love. I pulled out some of my favourite Dienamics dies for the rolled flowers and the clouds. And I used my crimper on the "grass." The papers and little tag are from 3 Bugs in a Rug.

Since there's not a stamp in sight here, I decided to post it on the UnstampaBelles challenge blog.

Happy b'day Mary and thanks for looking!

TSF Scrappy Challenge

It's my turn to post a Scrappy Challenge over on the TSF Forum. I decided to post this PageMaps sketch that I really like.

I dug in my stash for some Echo Park papers, Doodlebug twine and Creative Cafe felt to make this layout of our Chicago day in the summer of 2010. The "view" I often have when we travel is of my DH's back!

And here's a detail shot...

Thanks for dropping by! Be sure to check out the other fun challenges that we are hosting over on the forum.

Sunshiney Day

I received some fun new stash for Christmas and my birthday so thought I would put them to work in a new card. My mom gave me these oval dies from Spellbinders plus some of the Copics are new as is the PTI button twine, courtesy of my girl Dee. I reached deep into my stash for the papers from DCWV and Chatterbox. I have had the Bella sentiment stamp for a while but it always makes me happy to use it!

I imagine this little House Mouse guy is dreaming of all the Shiraz that will be made from those grapes. I know I would!!

I thought I'd post my card for a few challenges too, one of my resolutions for the new year!

TSF Friendzy Friday-- More Felt Flowers!

I am up again for another TSF Friendzy Friday. I thought I would continue the felt theme I started just before Christmas. I really have been on a bit of a felt kick lately!

This time I'd love to show you another type of fun dimensional felt flower. All you need is some felt, a needle, coordinating thread and a flower die. I used this great sparkly black felt.

Cut five flower shapes plus one slightly smaller circle.

Fold a flower in half and then in half again to form a triangular/funnel shape. Stitch the pointed edge to hold the shape together.

Repeat this until you have 4 funnel shapes. Arrange them onto the circle base with the points meeting in the middle and stitch them down so they are secure. I know this is a bit hard to see since my felt is black.

Make a funnel shape with your fifth flower and insert it into the middle so that it sits upright. Tack it down with stitches so that it is secure. And here is your finished flower.

Here you can see it on a layout along with another larger white one.

I hope you give this a try, experimenting with different sizes and colours. I certainly can't wait to make some more!

LRW Yellow Polka Dots

I was so happy when I saw the LRW challenge this week. I just finished this layout of our trip to the Barossa Valley in South Australia. And it features a nice pop of yellow polka dot paper and yellow polka dot ribbon!

I was inspired by a sketch from Once Upon a Sketch. Papers are from Scenic Route, 7 Gypsies and Echo Park. Flowers are handmade plus Prima and K&Co. too. Letters are ancient vinyl Thickers from deep in my wagon and BoBunny alpha stickers.

Thanks LRW for the great inspiration!!

Warm and Fuzzy--in Key West

So I haven't played along with LRW in well, it seems like years! I am super excited about the new team members and really wanted to play along with them this week. Seems I missed the deadline to link up, but I thought I'd make a blog post anyway!

Nothing says warm and fuzzy like suns and felt. I used a fun DCWV stack I have had in my stash, plus some Creative Cafe felt butterflies, Thickers, Dienamics diecut clouds and some thin hemp twine from my beading supplies.

Plus these photos from Key West last Christmas make me feel all warm and fuzzy too!
