Hope your day is fabulous

Today is our God daughter's birthday. So I sent her this card I made. I have always been awed at the style of the very talented Karen over at Snippets. So I finally got my courage up to try it out.

I need to practice some more with these multi-step stamps from Rubbernecker and distress markers and inks. But it was lots of fun!

I also linked up with the Simon Says Stamp challenge this week: anything goes.

Happy Sweet 16 Jennifer!!

Birthday Wishes

Thought I would play along with Jayne at LRW this week. She is calling for only card stock. I have been working on my CAS style lately, so this was perfect. Plus it gave me an excuse to play a few new sets from PTI.

Have a great weekend!

Wishing you Rainbows and Sunshine

Yup, I found some more time to spend in my craft room this week and I played along again with the Simon Says Stamp challenge, "Transport," this time by hot air balloon! Love how this turned out! Embossed clouds next to die cut vellum clouds...kind of neat.

I also linked up with Rosanne's challenge at LRW for three or more patterned papers. I used three from Lily Bee on my balloons.

So happy it is Friday tomorrow!

thanks for dropping by!

There are no shortcuts...

I was so excited when I saw the Simon Says Stamp challenge theme this week...Transport!

It was a great excuse to bust open my brand new pedal pusher set from PTI.  Here is the card I made for my colleague who just graduated with her Masters.

And yes the wheels really do spin! My hubby got a real kick out of that!
And I thought I would link up with the Passion for Papertrey "circles" challenge as well for my wheels (plus the brads and enamel dots)!

Bee Happy

I have been very busy in my craft room lately!! Love it. So I also played along with the Passion For Papertrey challenge, "Circles."

Here's what I came up with...

I wanted to try out my new Honey Bee set so I thought circles would be a nice contrast to honeycombs! I backed each die cut circle with some PTI papers from Black and White Basics, Lemon Tart bitty dots and New Leaf gingham. I added some vellum wings to the large bee plus some Stickles.  Some twine and embossing finished it off.

I have to give a big thank you to my BFF Avril who gifted me with so much of my first PTI stash. I am having so much fun playing with it! Thanks Av!

thanks so much for stopping by!

Congrats

I just love using flags on my projects so I was so glad to get a chance last night to play along the PTI Make it Monday challenge.

The idea was to make some sort of border using flag shapes. This is what I came up with...

I dug in my stash for all kinds of soft PTI patterned papers: "Everyday Blessings," "Sugar Plum," and "Pink Patterns." I also used my doubled ended banner dies and a tag sale die. I also broke out my Tiny Tags set for the little tag and sentiment.

Happy Saturday and thanks for peeking!

Bah Humbug...Holiday's Over

I was so glad to see the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge this week for things that start with "S." Seems it was made perfectly for me. Not only does my name begin with "S"...but I adore stencils! I recently bought a super trendy new one by Heidi Swapp and I got a new kind of texture paste to play with: Golden Light Molding Paste. It goes on like butter! Well actually, more like icing, which is kind of cool. I had to keep reminding myself not to lick the putty knife!!

Here's are two layout of us coming home from Christmas holidays in Jan 2012. We stopped at the falls for a couple of quick photos on the way home from the Niagara Falls, New York airport. Boy was it cold!

And some close ups of that stencil work!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Dad It's your day!

I made a second Father's Day card, this time for my father-in-law. I used the same PTI "lazy boy" set (that's what I call it!) but this time I stamped the chair. I just think this is such an adorable set. And I love that the lamps from Lighten Up work perfectly.

I also linked up with Simon Says Stamp's "masculine/father's day" challenge this week.

Happy Friday!

Enjoy the Ride

I always find it hard to make "masculine" cards. Well I needed one for our 17 year old nephew who is graduating from high school and who just got into a prestigious engineering program with a sweet scholarship. So I needed his card to be "boy" but also fun.

This is what I came up with...

And inside it says "Dude You Rock!" I have always wanted an excuse to use that fun PTI sentiment.

I sponged Tim Holtz distress ink over a few die cut clouds as masks. The bicycle I fuss cut after stamping from a super cute new set I got from Close to my Heart at Scrapfest. The sentiment is also from that set. I also added some cork chevrons and a wood veneer arrow. Cork and wood are "masculine" right??

I thought I would link up with Simon Says Stamp Challenge this week for their "Masculine/ Father's Day" theme.

Congrats Liam! We are so proud of you!
