Ontario's Turtle Tally

Did you know that 7 of Ontario's 8 turtle species are at risk of becoming extinct? I didn't until today when I read it in the local newspaper. How ironic when just last evening we saw this little fellow trying to cross our busy road. We corralled him in a cardboard box and carried him to the nearby pond/forest. Ever the scrapbooker, I took a few photos as he scrambled away. Then this morning when I saw the Toronto Zoo's call to "Join Ontario's Turtle Tally" I knew I could submit my photo and description of our encounter to their site created especially for that purpose. What a feeling of irony and fate!

Check out www.torontozoo.com/adoptapond/turtletally.asp if you see a turtle in your neighbourhood so we can help these lovely creatures survive!

Clouds

I recently made this father's day card with a stitched cloud for a forum challenge over at TSF. I also added a pinwheel. They are so fun and easy to make. I also tried a trick I have seen over at TSF DT member Dee's blog of taking pictures of cards outside. I love the effect! Thanks Dee.

Soundtrack of our Lives

I recently added a playlist to my blog. I had always enjoyed listening to other people's music, helping to figure out a bit about their personalities. So far I have added some of my favourite songs, such as 80s music, my era, recently revived on Glee, songs featured on my favourite TV show, CSI, and titles from the Broadway musical Rent, such as the first song played at my wedding. Great memories! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Sympathy

The LRW challenge this week was a sympathy card, which are often difficult to make. I used some My Mind's Eye papers and a Jenni Bowlin bingo card for the kind of effect I was going for. I stamped and embossed the butterfly and the velvet ribbon is from my wagon.
