What a View

I finally got a chance to use some fun PTI patterned paper I have had for a while. I just love the funky colours and patterns. Perfect for some photos of Sydney Harbour. I also used these cool polaroid frames and Studio Calico wooden cameras.

Some close ups...

I decided to link up with the Simon Says Stamp challenge this week...anything goes!

Thanks for stopping by!

Crazy for jars

I recently made a whole set of "jar" themed cards for my mom. Perfect to play along with Rosanne's jar challenge over at LRW. I can't get enough of them either! Here are two of those cards.

Thanks for a great challenge Rosanne!

Remember this day

I decided to play along with Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger. I just loved the inspiration photo. The colours and patterns really drew me in.

I made two pages, inspired by this photo, featuring photos from our last day in Sydney at the botanic gardens and city parks. I splashed acrylic paint and mists around this beautiful  background paper by Recollections. I love how the patterned paper mimics the carpet in the photo while the colours are drawn from the bedding.

Here is the second page. I made sure to keep a spot for our boarding passes to San Fran.

Here are a few detail shots to show some of the fun things I did wish washi tape, including flags out of toothpicks!

What are you known for???

This week over at Simon Says Stamp and Show, the challenge is to showcase what you are known for...a theme, technique, personality trait etc. Nearly all of my layouts feature our travel adventures so I might be known for that (!).

This layout features some really fun photos from our trip to Australia in July 2011. I am nearly done that album! We were at a beach down the coast from Sydney and wrote our initials in the sand. It was a gorgeous "winter" day.

Here are some closeups to show the Cosmo Cricket paper, stickers and chipboard. I also added some "sun rays" with a mask and texture effect.

Thanks for stopping by!

Live your bliss

I also decided to play along with Tammy's Little Red Wagon challenge this week: repeat a shape. I repeated this hot air balloon shape three times as well as repeated cloud shapes.

Thanks for a fun challenge Tammy!

Just for you

What fun I had making this card and envelope! I started with a spring-y themed card with lots of washi tape and stamped and die cut butterflies. I wanted it to look like the butterflies were flying off the edge of the card.

That meant that it wouldn't fit in a regular envelope. So I made a sleeve from vellum. I repeated the colours with the butterflies, tag and washi tape.

And here's the finished package.

I liked up with PTI's Make it Monday challenge to make an envelope for oversized embellishments. And I just had to play along with the Simon Says Stamp challenge to use washi tape!

Thanks for checking out my project!

Black and White with Splash of Colour

I made one last card this weekend...for the Simon Says Stamp challenge...black and white plus a splash of colour.

I wanted to use a new embossing folder so that made a nice backdrop for the PTI polka dot paper. And the splash of colour comes from the herringbone pattern stamped on the mini hearts.

A splash of colour is certainly needed on a grey old day like today!

Celebrate

I made another card today! I had wanted to play along with the PTI Make it Monday challenge so I found a bit of time today. The challenge was to use one of the rainbow colour schemes and use a repeating pattern of die cuts or stamps. Here is the colour scheme I chose...

And I had been wanting to play with my Happy Hexagon set so what better way to repeat patterns! I love how bright and cheery these colours look, especially on a dreary day like this.

Happy Sunday!

Danke!

I always seem to need thank you cards so I decided to take the Passion for Papertrey challenge and use some of my new PTI stash to make one.

I used my new Mehndi Medallions set along with my German sentiments. The pp is also PTI (Raspberry Fizz and Men of Life). I added a bit of glitter and a seam binding bow to top it off.

Danke for stopping by!

We are family

I seem to have been only posting cards lately! That is kind of funny since I used to only post layouts. Today I decided to post a fun layout from our trip to Australia in 2011. I used ancient product from Basic Grey that I "liberated" from the basement stash of my scrappy friend Avril. I just loved the colours of this collection, Urban Prairie.

In honour of this "oldie but goodie" Basic Grey stash, I decided to link up with the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge, "Embrace the Old."

Celebrate

Happy New Year! It's been too long since I played along with any challenges. I made this birthday card with my new happy harlequins PTI set. I can't wait to try some other things with it as well.

I linked up with Simon Says Stamp "something new" challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!
