In honour of Christmas day, Dee has given us the week "off" at Crazy Card Party, so we can post anything we like. I thought a Christmas card would be appropriate.
Be sure to see what the other Party-Ers have posted today for anything goes.
This week at Crazy Card Party, Patricia is asking to see Christmas tags. Perfect timing since we all just made tags for Rosanne's annual tag swap. I was honoured to be asked to participate this year, my first time joining in. It was very stressful since I know these ladies really pull out all the stops on their tags! I pulled out all my favourite things...vellum, gold, embossing, burlap!
The bottom layer is PTI cream cardstock. On the back I stamped "to" and "from" with a Mama Elephant set. The next layer is Stampin Up gold vellum. Then a smaller burlap tag, topped with a tiny kraft tag stamped with a PTI "joy" stamp. I got out my Peaceful Pine cones set and stamped the branch and embossed the pine cone with Martha Stewart "copper penny" powder. Some bells, seam binding, gold thread and hemp cord finished it off. I purposely left the different layers "loose" so that it had movement and the sheer part of the vellum could really show through.
Then I made 19 more!
Thanks for a wonderful evening Rosanne and thanks for the gorgeous tags ladies!
Be sure to check out the tags made by the other Party-Ers!

I borrowed PTI's Come All Ye Faithful from my friend Regan and went a bit crazy with the dog cards. Here are a few of the many combinations of sentiments, sweaters and backgrounds I made...
Once I was addressing my cards I realised I have lots of dog lovers on my list! Fun times. Thanks Regs!
This week at Crazy Card Party, it is my turn to issue the challenge and I chose snowflakes. Not that I am craving winter or anything crazy like that. But I just love snowflakes and make most of my Christmas cards with something snowflake related.
I played around with PTI's Snowflake Flurries in a bunch of different colour combos.
I can't wait to see all the snowflake creations this week and be sure to see what kind of snowstorm the other Party-Ers have whipped up! cs~ PTI

I thought I would post a few more of my Christmas cards. This time I really gave my PTI Wreath for All Seasons set a work out. I love how it went so well with my new WPlus9 sentiment dies! It is hard to tell in these photos, but the wreathes are embossed and very shiny and sparkly in real life.

Welcome to my special place for sharing all the good things in life: travel, recipes, favourite books, and of course scrapbooking! This blog is inspired by a twist on one of my favourite sayings. The 16th century proverb goes something like "you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear." Well I certainly think you can. Whether it is turning travel glitches into new adventures, creating a gourmet meal out of an empty fridge, and of course transforming bits of paper, ribbon and glue into scrapbooking masterpieces.
