The Best
I have been trying to work on my layouts as a new year's resolution. So far so good!
This is one of the Swedish castles we visited in summer 2013.
A few of my favourite embellies: arrows, wood veneer and flair!
I linked up with Simon Stays Stamp Wednesday challenge... "anything goes."

Crazy Card Party-- Inspiration Photo
This week at Crazy Card Party, I gave the girls this stunning pillow image as inspiration. Seemed like a great way to generate some tropical vibes at this time of year!
I tried to replicate the look with some Hero Arts tropical foliage stamps.
I can't wait to see what the other Party-Ers create this week!

Best Day Ever
It has been a long time since I posted any layouts. I made a promise to myself in the new year to commit to finishing some albums.
I decided to play along with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge this week..."anything but a card." It certainly fits my resolution!
The featured products this week are from We R Memory Keepers. I have recently started adding pocket pages to my albums. I used a We R page here. In some ways I have found doing pocket pages more challenging than traditional 12 x 12. But I need to remember to let the pocket page do more of the work. Here I just added some flair, chipboard and 4x4 Project Life vellum overlays and it was done!

Crazy Card Party-- Embossed Velllum
This week at Crazy Card Party, Kathryn is asking us to emboss vellum! Well whether it is dry or heat, embossing vellum is one of my favourite things, especially for holiday cards.
A while back, fellow Party-er Rosanne let me cut a few birch backgrounds with this stunning cover plate. It is so delicate. But I wasn't sure what to do with it so it sat in my stash for a long time. Then I happened to have it sitting on my desk with a piece of vellum that I had dry embossed with a falling snow folder. Well! the Soft Stone birch trees looked stunning backed with the vellum snow!
I can't wait to see what the other Party-Ers create this week with their embossed vellum!

Crazy Card Party-- New Stamp
This week at Crazy Card Party, Rosanne is asking us to use our new stamps. Right before the holidays I got a couple of new stamp sets. I love poinsettias so I had to order this set from a company called Poppy Stamps. I had never heard of that company before. The set also has ivy leaves and pine branches so very versatile. I played around with the set before packing away my holiday craft stash for next year.
I stamped and die cut a few pine branches and the poinsettia. I layered them on this cool scalloped card base cut with a new PTI die set I got just before the holidays as well. The sentiment is embossed in gold and is from a new Hero Arts set I got on clearance at Michaels just before the holidays. So lots of "new" stuff here.
I can't wait to see what "new" stuff the other Party-Ers use this week!

Holiday Cheer
Happy New Year! I thought I would play along with Simon Says Stamp this week..."New Something." I got some new Christmas stamps right before the holidays so I had to try them out before packing them away.
Here's a card I made with my new poinsettia stamp and die set from Poppy Stamps, a new company for me as well!
I embossed the flowers and leaves in white then did some messy watercolouring. And of course I used my trusty Simon stitched rectangle die for the base.
thanks for stopping by!
