DT December Reveal

I had a blast working with the "Merry Christams" line from Echo Park for the TSF Design Team reveal this month. I also had some ribbon, a Queen and Co. bling tree and snowflake buttons to play with.

First I made these two layouts of our "New Christmas Trees" of "fan palm and norfolk pine." The non-traditional photos really go with these gorgeous papers. I embossed flourishes on the white card stock with versa mark for a cool effect and also used iridescent Maya Mist on the large doilie. I made some rolled felt flowers too. Nothing says Christmas like felt! From my stash I added BoBunny trim flowers, Scenic Route chipboard letters, MLS mini alpha stickers, Prima pearl flourishes, twine, brads and a buckle. Oh and I did some messy sewing too!

Here's a detail shot of the embossed flourishes.

Then I really wanted to make something special to capture "Our Merry Christmas Traditions." So I grabbed a naked 6x6 chipboard album I have had forever. I inked the edges of the front and back cover (where the metal grommets are) and sealed it with clear acrylic paint. Then I covered each page with some of the amazing Echo Park paper. I added a few things throughout such as trim, more rolled felt flowers, buttons, twine, ric rac, and MLS mini alpha stickers.

Here's an inside page of "friends" and special holiday decorations.

Our wintery view and a favourite tree ornament.

Christmas morning traditions of a special brunch and photos by the tree.

Special times with our families.

Our stockings are hung by the chimney with care...

The tree all trimmed!

Holiday baking!

And finally I made a card with one of my favourite sentiment stamps. I added twine and trim!

Thanks for looking and be sure to check out what the other DT ladies have crafted!!

LRW Basic Grey

It has been a while since I have played along at Little Red Wagon. This week's challenge was to use Basic Grey. I love most BG lines and had some "Jolly" left over from last year. I made this card from my scraps. Even the brads are BG! I added some trim and twine from my wagon. Thanks for another great challenges ladies!

The Color Room

This week it is my turn to post a sketch or layout challenge over at TSF and I chose a palette from The Color Room. The Australian site not only posts sketches for inspiration, but colour palettes and photos of gorgeously decorated rooms as well!

Here is my take on it. My yellowy gold is more green than in should be, but you get the idea! I used pp and cs from SEI's Black Orchid collection. The glittered letter stickers are from White Blossom and the mini alpha stickers are MLS.

I love how this page from Dubai turned out and I will definitely be checking out the Color Room for inspiration!

Christmas Card Exchange

A while ago, in a moment of weakness (!) I signed up for a Christmas card exchange over at TSF. I often find card crafting a challenge. I think I want to do "too much" on each card...try out all the new techniques or products at once. And I must admit I am often intimidated by the amazing cards created by my fellow scrapbookers!
For my cards I used some DCWV papers, various sentiment and image stamps, ribbon, and red office labels. It also gave me a chance to get some much needed copic colouring practice. They are all similar, with the variety in the coloured images, sentiments and ribbon used.
Here are a few of the cards:

And here they are all together. Looking forward to the exchange get together in December to see what the other ladies created!

Peek-a-Boo!

It is my turn over at TSF to post a card challenge. How about a peek-a-boo card? Cut a window in your card and let the sentiment shine through!

I punched a circle and then framed it with a QK die cut. The pp and sentiment sticker are from 3 Bugs in a Rug.

Thanks for peekin'!

Three Friends Retreat

This week my scrapbook friends and I got together to scrap at my house. It had been ages since we did that. It felt just like old times though! We got to catch up over some wine and snacks and complete a few layouts.

I made this layout of our retreat last fall, the last one we did together. It was a fabulous time, wonderful memories! We are long overdue for another one...maybe in the spring??

Thanks ladies! I hope we can scrap together again soon!

Little Red Wagon- Red

Little Red Wagon is celebrating its one year anniversary! Congratulations ladies! Your challenges are always so much fun.

For the special occasion, this week's challenge asks for red of course! I made this Christmas card with DCWV papers and a new image and my copics.

Congratulations again ladies!
