TSF Retreat

I know it's been quiet around here. Haven't done much designing lately, hopefully soon.

But I did attend the recent TSF retreat in Grand Bend and had a blast with my fellow DT ladies, past and present! They are one talented bunch of girls! I loved watching them create and we shared tons of laughs as well.

I was pretty productive. I worked on my Merry Christmas banners for the upcoming banner swap. I used some MME I had from last year. And the girls had fun making fun of me as I rolled 28 rollie roses! I had to ice my wrist after wards!

Here's a sneak peek...

I also got lots of layouts done. Most are for upcoming challenges. But here's a few I can share...

Here's Roamy, my roaming gnome! He makes me so happy I had to scrap him with some Nikki Syvils papers. Plus, check out the feltie snail in the bottom corner!

I also worked on some pages to finally complete my album of our Europe trip last summer. Here's the Helsinki Cathedral using stash from Echo Park, BoBunny and good old Scenic Route. I miss those guys! The green ribbon in the big blue button is from my friend Dee. That stuff ties like a charm. Thanks girl!

I'll post a few more of my creations from the retreat soon.

Friendzy Friday~ Gluber flowers

I have had a few people ask how I made these paper flowers so I thought I'd show you for this week's Friendzy Friday at Two Scrapbook Friends!

They are super easy. You need a Cosmo Cricket gluber, a small circle punch, a pencil and two kinds of contrasting paper. I chose a cardstock and a patterned paper.

Punch circles from each paper. I started with 8 circles of my solid cardstock for my flower centre.

Scrunch your circles (pattern or texture up) around the end of a pencil.

Remove the top backing of your gluber and adhere your circles close together in the centre of the gluber.

Continue until you are happy with the centre of your flower.

Then add your contrasting colour around the edge for the flower "petals."

You should end up with something like this!

Carefully remove the backing of your gluber and adhere your flower to your project. Here is one I added to a recent layout using Cosmo Cricket papers.

It is a fun way to add texture and dimension to your projects!

Getting Crafty

This week on the TSF forum, I posted a challenge to showcase other crafty talents on a layout or project. Here's a layout of my favourite place in Berlin, the ruined church. I put my rudimentary quilling skills to work. My mom gave me a technique book and some supplies so I thought I'd give it a try.

I used papers from 3 Bugs in a Rug, my We R Memory Keepers stitching tools and October Afternoon letter stickers.

Here's a few close ups of my quilling.

I can't wait to see what crafty talents the fabulous ladies on the forum show off!

Yesterday was my SIL's 50th birthday! Here's the card I made for her. I used some MME scraps, tulle, a House Mouse image and MFT sentiment stamp.

Happy WCMD!

DT Reveal Part Two~ Mini Album

And finally, I also made this chipboard album as a keepsake and chronicle of our first class trip to Europe last summer! It is a great way to showcase those photos that I didn't use in my 12x12 layouts and a spot for all that memorabilia!

I covered this 6x6 chipboard album I have had in my stash forever, painting around the grommets. I added the red MLS mini alpha stickers and the red gingham ribbon.

We started off with a fun day in Chicago! I used my new banner dienamics dies and Thickers.

Then we flew to Munich and then onto Linz, Austria to visit family. Another die-namics banner die!

Then we flew to Sweden, via Munich. Stockholm holds such special memories for us!

The next day we took the train south to the medieval castle town of Kalmar. I dug out this set of train Quikutz dies plus some Doodlebug letters.

The next day we flew up to northern Sweden, to Lulea, near the Arctic Circle!

Then we flew to Finland for a one night stay in Helsinki. A first for us and we can't wait to go back!

Then we flew to Berlin for a few days of relaxing and exploring.

What a trip! I just love how this mini album turned out. It is a special reminder of another wonderful adventure!

Nice Cute You!

With World Card Making Day nearly here, I got busy and crafted a few cards. Here I used an adorable House Mouse image and some Jillibean Soup scraps.

So cute!!

Stay tuned...I'm going to reveal more this week!

Celebrate

In the spirit of World Card Making Day coming up, I decided to show a special card. But this isn't just any card, my mom made it! She gave it to us a while ago for our anniversary. Isn't that just the coolest folding technique!

thanks mom!
