I decided to play along with Simon Says Wednesday challenge...stencil it. I was inspired by Debby Hughes to try some cool techniques here like watercolour over coloured card stock. It was also a great excuse to use my new Heidi Swapp stencil. I  love these little hearts.

Crazy Card Party-- Monochromatic

This week at Crazy Card Party Patricia has set a monochromatic theme.  I chose shades of cream/gold...I hope that is OK! My crafty friend Lee Anne let me play with her gorgeous PTI Beautiful Brushstrokes set. I am so sorry this is no longer available. Amazing set for sure!

I embossed the outlines in gold and then watercoloured with some some gold tone paints.

I can't wait to see all the monochrome masterpieces by the other Party-Ers this week!

Just a Note to Say...You are Simply Amazing!

I decided to play along with the Simon Says Wednesday challenge...Let's Get Sentimental. I love sentiments and this is one of my "go to" ones lately since it has so many options. This is a thank you card and inside it says "You are Simply Amazing"-- a WPlus9 sentiment.

I embossed the watering can from WPlus9 in silver (so cool! it looks just like my aluminum watering can) and added some florals from PTI and MFT.

Crazy Card Party-- Anything Goes!

Well...apparently this week on Crazy Card Party Avril is letting us post anything we'd like. So, I thought I would break out of the "card" rules and post a layout I did recently.

This is the title page for our Scandinavian trip in August 2013.  The iconic Stockholm city hall just seemed perfect for the title page. 

I cut this big geo tag and PTI sentiment from glitter paper. The geo tag die from Lifestyle Crafts is my new go to die for layouts.

I saved our room key from our Stockholm hotel. It is wood veneer! How cool is that. And classic scandic chic. 

It is fitting that this is Avril's challenge since she deserves cred for this layout. She made me this "thankful" tag with her new laminator. And she gave me some of her gold scalloped trim, which went perfectly with my glitter paper and Heidi Swapp gold dot paper.

Well I can't wait to see what the other Party-Ers have crafted up for this anything goes challenge.

Just a Note to Say...

I needed to make a thank you card for my hubby to take to work. So I tried a fun technique I had been wanting to try. I used my Ranger distress markers on the leaves of this tree stamp. Fun! I also embossed the trunk in a neat a copper colour. I wanted it to look like spring blossoms on an apple tree. On the inside it  says..."Thanks a Million" from one of my fave Avery Elle stamp sets.
