Birthday Birds

The weekly card challenge over at Two Scrapbook Friends called for bird themed cards. I have tons of bird themed stamps and sentiments so I made a few more birthday cards for my mom to practice with my copics.

Copics and Cards

I recently purchased some more copics and was waiting for a chance to try them out. When my mom mentioned she was out of birthday cards, I knew I had my excuse. Here are a few cards I made using different stamps from my collection and chipboard sentiments from K&Co.

Birthday Wishes

It's been a while since I've posted. Too much marking! Here is a fun little card I made for my father in law's 78th birthday. I used a Maya Road rub on for the bird and a favourite sentiment stamp. My fleur de lys border punch came in handy too!

Happy Valentine's Day

The LRW challenge this week was to use red and bling. A Valentine was certainly in order. I used Little Yellow Bicycle papers and embellishments and red bling and velvet ric rac from my wagon. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Project 12

Scrapbook and Cards is running a great project encouraging monthly layouts. Becky Fleck is providing sketches each month.

Here is my take on her January sketch.

Who says you can't still have fun at 41?!

Copic Craze!

I have long admired the gorgeous coloured images that others do create on cards with Copic markers. I resisted the new technique, hoping that it would just be a passing fade and I could save myself lots of money! But I finally took the plunge on Friday and attended an intro class at TSF. I bought my first 6 markers and learned some shading and blending techniques. Clearly I need tons more practice but here are three cards I made out of my first colouring attempts. Thanks Joanne and Dee for all the encouragement! I also used some fun K&Co. chipboard elements on the cards for this week's LRW challenge.

Journalling Galore

I always struggle to fit my journalling in my travel pages, especially those first and last days of a trip. You know the ones that seem to go on forever, depending on where you are flying? The latest challenge at Two Scrapbook Friends is to use tons of journalling, so I knew this was the challenge for me. This is our return trip from Germany last March break. I printed the journallling on vellum so it wouldn't overwhelm the page, and I knew it would coordinate well with the acetate embellishments from Making Memories.
This photo is of our luggage. We always travel carry on only. So I thought it was a nice snap shot of that. Of course I think it is nearly impossible to do that now with the new security measures!
