Happy birthday!

I recently attended a girls' weekend near Tobermory at my friend Tina's cottage. We had a lovely time watching chick movies, eating treats and scrapbooking! The fall leaves were gorgeous.

It is Tina's birthday this week! She is a lover of all things French, especially Paris. Here is the card I made for her, using a Prima butterfly and papers from My Mind's Eye.

October DT Reveal!

These are the gorgeous products I got to work with for October's DT reveal at TSF. It is the Lost and Found line from My Mind's Eye, plus some Queen and Co. pearls, naked chipboard hearts and some wool.

To this layout of our spring trip to Newfoundland, I added Prima flowers, Kaiser pearls, mini alpha stickers from MLS as well as the tickets, wooden triangles, fibres and cs from my stash.

For this layout of Petty Harbour in Newfoundland, I added Doodlebug alpha stickers, Prima flowers, ric rac, glitter and cs.

Here are some pictures of northern Sweden, near the arctic circle. So gorgeous! I added Prima flowers, buttons, cs, and mini alpha stickers from MLS.

I stamped and embossed this bird for a perfect addition to the glittery papers.

This was a fabulous line to work with. Can't wait to add these pages to my albums!

Friendzy Friday-Flat Fabric Flowers

For this Friendzy Friday I thought I would make flat fabric flowers. Say that five times fast! It is so much fun to add fabric to our scrapbooking projects. You will need some fabric, sharp scissors, sewing machine, and chalk or pencil for tracing.

Fold fabric in half, right sides together, and trace or free hand a flower. I traced a chipboard flower.

Cut it out and sew all the way around your flower. Or sew around your traced lines first and then cut out your flower. Trim close to the seam. Cut a small notch in the back of your flower, cutting only through one layer. This will allow you to turn your flower right side out.

Carefully turn your flower right side out. The cut side is the back and won't show on your project. You can top stitch around the edges for an added detail as I did on the left flower. You can also sew in a few "dimples" or tucks in your flower to give it a bit more dimension.

Here I added one of my flowers to this layout of St. John's, Newfoundland. A button and some floss really finished it off.




And I used another flower on this card. A button and some hemp cord finished it off!

Yesterday my aunt Maureen got married! I made this card for the happy occasion. I used Little Yellow Bicycle papers, some Prima flowers, bling and trim from my stash. Congrats!!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is my inlaws' 51st anniversary. I made this card for them with Fancy Pants papers and rub on and some trim and flowers from my stash. Diamond stickles helped highlight the pattern.

Memorabilia!

It is time for another layout challenge over at TSF. I know at this time of year we all have memorabilia from our holidays and trips. Why not showcase some of it on your layouts? Think ticket stubs, maps, ID bracelets, menus, postcards...the options are endless!

I used my entry ticket from the Singapore Botanic Gardens on this layout. The papers are from DCWV and I added some Kaiser pearls as well as gems and buttons from my stash. The layout was inspired by a sketch by Joanne at I Love Sketches.

Sketch Challenge

Now that it is the unofficial beginning of fall, the TSF forum has begun a new design team challenge for Tuesdays. Today I posted the first sketch challenge. I chose this sketch by Little Book of Sketches. It is so versatile!

I used this sketch to create these two layouts of the TSF April 2009 retreat at the Oakwood in Grand Bend. I used Scenic Route papers and just rotated the sketch for the second page!

What great memories with my two most favourite scrapbook friends! Thanks ladies!
