In the meadow...

I had some time last night to make some more Christmas cards and decided to play along with a fun challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges...inspiration from Christmas carols! I adore holiday music so this was fun.

I used a technique I tried before, layering washi tape under chipboard. I love how these turned out!

Here's two more, inspired by a Christmas hymn and using PTI stamps...

And then I went a bit crazy and made a few more, but they don't have Christmas carol themes...

Happy Sun (it's actually sunny!) day!

Time for Us

The ladies over at Shopping Our Stash have a cool challenge this week...showcase "your best deal ever." I knew right away what I wanted to feature!

I recently discovered that Homesense sells amazing scrappy supplies at great prices. I got this MME "Time for Tea" pad and can't stop using it. I also bought TWO packs of American Crafts twine there. Yes I went back for another since I love it so much!

This is a layout I did at Cropfest of our weekend in Huntsville in July. Even though we were up north for a funeral, we still found some time for us.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of You

I had been meaning to send a dear cousin a "thinking of you" type card for a while since there are some tough things happening in her family right now. So nothing like the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger and Simon Says Stamp "Thinking of You" Challenge to get me going.

Here's the fab inspo photo. I just love rolled felt flowers and the warm fall colours.

Here's what I came up with. I used my new PTI Wreath for All Seasons set, rolled some tiny felt flowers and found an old metal frame I had sitting around.

Thanks for the great inspiration to make and send this long overdue card!

Use Your Stuff~ Christmas Theme

The ladies over at the fun challenge blog Use Your Stuff are asking for Christmas/holiday themed stuff this week. Here are two Christmas cards I made using my new favourite embossing folder and some MME papers. My mom whipped up the fabric yo-yo flowers.

Cropfest Layouts-- Never Forget

I had a such a wonderful time at Cropfest this past weekend with some extremely fun and talented ladies! It was the best time by far I have ever had at a crop! I got lots done, played with some fun products and techniques and above all got a belly-ache from so much laughing!

Here's one of the layouts I did. I used some Texture Effect on the background and gave some love to my PTI chicken wire background stamp. I also made some flags with washi tape and tooth picks!

Here are a few closeups...

I decided to link up with A Passion for Papertrey "inky love" challenge this week since I used my neglected PTI barnyard basics set.

Thanks ladies for such a fab weekend!! Can't wait to do it again!

Christmas Wishes

I love using fibers on my cards so playing along with the Moxie Fab World canvas, cork and burlap challenge this week was easy!

I rolled a flower out of canvas then misted it with some sparkly Maya Mist. Fun!

Huntsville

Last month Sarah over at the Paper Mixing Bowl asked me to be a guest designer for November. I was thrilled to play along. I love her approach to layout challenges...so many elements to consider! Here is the "recipe" I had to work with.

And here is what I came up with...

The Echo Park papers made it easy to stick to the white/brown/black colour scheme. I used butterflies as my elements from nature (plus the photo screams "nature"), I used several stencils with Texture Effect on the background. Plus I stamped the words on the journalling card and some yellow twine counts as a fiber. I journalled about the special time we had in Huntsville, despite the fact we were there for a funeral. Exploring beautiful locations like that with someone special really puts life into perspective.

Here are a few detail shots...
