A Week in Paradise

I had some fun in my craft room this week. Here's another layout I did of Christmas 2011 at our condo. I just love our back view. I take this same photo every time! This one was just after sunrise.

Here are a few close ups...that's "Bob" the resident alligator in the top right. It was always fascinating to watch him swim around. He has since been relocated from our lake since he was getting too big. We often wonder where he is now.  I added the little metal bird clip from Prima, since Bob often swam near the birds.

And I decided to link up with the Simon Says Stamp Challenge this week...Flower Power! We planted a hibiscus tree in our front garden at the condo a few years ago and it is so big and lush now! I love these little wood veneer pieces since they look just like the blossoms.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are having a great long weekend!

Take Note

I thought I would post another layout of our trip to Boston. This time to another fav sports shrine for my hubby: Fenway Park!

I thought I would link up with the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge this week for "a little paper." I often make 12x12 layouts with 6x6 pads, but this time I used a full sized collection pack from Echo Park, but it had some many fun little elements that I ended up only using little strips or sections of paper here and there!

Here are some close ups...

Have a great long weekend everyone!

Best Memory

I went to a fabulous crop for charity on the weekend. The cause was worthy, the friends were plentiful and I got a few pages done! When I got home I was still feeling creative so I kept at it. Here is a page I made last night using great group photos from a recent family reunion.

I added some fun to the background with my PTI chicken wire stamp and my new Stamping Bella Java Spills set. So I decided to link up with A Passion for Papertrey background stamp challenge.

I also added some clouds with texture effect.

And because it was a gorgeous outdoor northern Ontario setting, I had to add some butterflies with my Martha punch. I linked up with the Simon Says Stamp challenge for "something with wings".

Thanks for stopping by!

Mom

So here is another mother's day card I made this week, this one for my mom. Since my bad cold has left me feeling like my head is full of cotton balls, I needed to get some inspiration to get me started.

Here is the care I made...

I was inspired by Nichole Heady over at PTI on this gorgeous card. To add some texture, I crimped the entire background patterned paper and also embossed my polaroid frame with tiny dots.

I linked up with Simon Says Stamp and Show "inspired by" challenge again as well.

I know my mom will love it!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms!

Mother

This week I have been really sick with the nasty cold that is going around. But I found time to get to my craft room and make some mother's day cards. I badly needed some inspiration in my foggy sick state. So the cards I created were inspired by other talented crafters.

I made this card for my mother-in-law...

I was inspired by this card by Rochelle Washington. I just love those embossed chevrons on her background! Since I didn't have that kind of embossing folder, I die cut my chevrons first and then embossed them with tiny dots.On the inside I used one of my favourite sentiments..."you are a blessing to me."

When I showed the card to my hubby, he said "cool chevrons"! I couldn't believe he even knew that word! Seems we brainwash our loved ones into scrapbooking even more than we realise!!

I decided to link up with Simon Says Stamp and Show for  their "inspired by" challenge this week.

Happy Mother's Day to all those mothers out there and I hope my mother-in-law likes her card!

I wish I could lighten your load

My cousin's wife received some pretty devastating medical news recently. I popped this card in the mail to her this week just to let her know we are thinking of her. I linked up with Simon Says Stamp "Happy Mail" challenge this week. Hopefully this can bring a bit of sunshine...on the inside I used my trusty "sending you sunshine" stamp from YNS.

After I was done, I regretted I didn't emboss (maybe lines?) the white background behind the chair since it looks kind of plain here. Next time.

Hang in there Anne and know we love you!

Hope everyone enjoys the sunshine today!

Super Fan

I am excited to play along again with LRW this week...Jayne has a fun challenge to use tooth picks or lollipop sticks. Since I just had to squeeze more washi onto this layout, I made a couple of flags with toothpicks. Kind of went with the sports theme.

Here's another layout of my hubby at his Bruins shrine...

And a few close ups...

Thanks for a fun challenge Jayne!
