Holiday Cheer

Happy New Year! I thought I would play along with Simon Says Stamp this week..."New Something." I got some new Christmas stamps right before the holidays so I had to try them out before packing them away. 

Here's a card I made with my new poinsettia stamp and die set from Poppy Stamps, a new company for me as well!

I embossed the flowers and leaves in white then did some messy watercolouring. And  of course I used my trusty Simon stitched rectangle die for the base.

Merry Christmas

I thought I would play along with one more challenge before the holidays. Simon Says Wednesday challenge this week is "Make it Sparkle" featuring Hero Arts. 

I used my new Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Tree set. I love all the layers. I embossed the final layer with iridescent white. And I added snow in the background with a stencil and paste with glitter on top before it dried. A sequin star for the top of the tree finished it off!

Merry and Bright

My friend Rosanne hosts a tag swap every year. This was my third year participating. The participants really pull out all the stops in creating tiny masterpieces to swap.

Make a Wish!

Every year I make a set of all occasion cards to give to my mom as part of her Christmas present. It is a great excuse to dig out lots of stamp sets and have fun. 

Here is one of the cards I made for her...

The wreath is from a new set from Sugar Pea designs. I embossed it and the sentiment in black. Love it! The flowers are WPlus9 and that fun sentiment is Mama Elephant.

I decided to link up with Simon Says Wednesday challenge this week...Gift It. I will give this card in a set to my mom as  a present, and she will give it as part of a birthday present sometime this year!

Be Merry!

Well it certainly looks like Christmas around here this week! Thought I would link up with Simon's Wednesday challenge. It's a pretty inspiration board...

What a pretty inspiration! I chose the cute car with the tree on top! I used a very old Stamping Bella stamp and watercoloured it up. My friend Dee recently did a similar card. So I channeled my "inner Dee" and splatted some gold mist on it too!

Crazy Card Party~ Poinsettias or Christmas florals!

This week at Crazy Card Party, I am up and I want to see Christmas florals! I love poinsettias (and full disclosure I rarely have luck keeping a real one alive for long!) so I was really excited about two new(ish) things in my stash to play with.

First up is a Clearly Besotted stamp set. I embossed a poinsettia on vellum. Love how that turned out! And gold with a kraft card base just makes me happy! The sentiment is from my go-to PTI set by the lovely Maile Belles. I channeled my "inner Dee" and splatted on a bit of gold mist. :)

 





Second up uses my new Tim Holtz poinsettia stencil. I tinted some paste with a variety of distress inks. Love how the final result perfectly matched PTI's new pink Lovely Lady! I threw lots of glitter on the paste before it dried. 

 

   
I can't wait to see what kind of Christmasy floral goodness the other Party-Ers create this week!
